Commissioners noted the award amount was slightly less than earlier expectations; the chair said the figure was about $8,000 below an anticipated $708,000. "In this economy ... getting that small of a percentage of a deduction is a big win for the city," the chair said. Commissioner Kramer moved approval of the ordinance under Section 14 of the city charter to accept the grant and submit the HUD action plan; the motion passed by roll call.
City staff said the funds will be administered under the city's CDBG program for the 2025'26 year. No allocation breakdown was given at the meeting. The ordinance was passed under the immediate-effect provisions of Section 14 of the city charter as stated in the meeting materials.
