Hamilton County commissioners on June 9 approved a motion to adopt a centralized Amazon Business Prime account for county purchasing, with the board of commissioners serving as account administrator.
Anna Schuler, governance, risk and compliance division, told the board the program is offered through the Association of Indiana Counties at no cost to the county (the service typically costs about $3,500 per year) and would consolidate 17 separate Amazon accounts used across county departments into a single account. Schuler said staff had reviewed the program terms and found no cause for concern and that, if the board approved adoption, she would bring the terms and conditions to the next public meeting for formal approval and signature before implementation.
Commissioners approved the adoption by voice vote. Schuler said consolidation would proceed only after the board reviews and signs the formal terms at a subsequent public meeting.
