The City of Central council authorized the mayor to execute a maintenance agreement with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) for mowing and litter pickup along state-rights-of-way.
Council member Roy moved to approve the agreement and Council member Meyer seconded. In discussion, staff explained DOTD reimburses the city up to a stated cap (spelled in the record as "14,800"), and the city is pursuing an LMA change to add additional funding cycles—staff referenced an effort to obtain an additional "4,000,000" added to permit another cycle. Staff also said DOTD will pay for four cuts under the current reimbursement arrangement.
After discussion the council approved the motion on roll call with all members voting yes. The mayor was authorized to execute the DOTD maintenance agreement and staff will implement mowing and litter pickup as provided under the agreement.
