Board approves multiple hires, pulls Booneville athletic-director appointment for separate vote; AD approved 6–1

The Warrick County School Corp. Board approved personnel recommendations that included multiple certified hires, noncertified staff appointments, varsity coaching assignments, transfers and resignations. The human-resources report was presented by Dr. Gresha.

The board approved the hires as presented after one member asked to pull the athletic-director appointment for Booneville High School from the omnibus motion. The motion to approve the certified and noncertified staff as presented, except the Booneville athletic-director position, was made by Mr. Eigner and seconded by Mr. Baker and passed as amended.

The board then voted separately to approve Michael Chapman as athletic director at Booneville High School. The motion to approve Chapman was made by Mr. Eigner and seconded by Mr. Mosby; the board recorded six affirmative votes and one negative vote, and the motion carried.

The hires approved in the omnibus motion included certified teachers for multiple schools (examples: Emily Mundy, special education teacher at Castle South Middle School; Tara Hours, counselor at Tecumseh Middle School; Madison Mitchell, kindergarten teacher at Newburgh Elementary) plus noncertified program assistants and supervisors across district schools. Reported resignations included Sheena Baumgart (counselor at Tecumseh Middle School, effective June 3, 2025) and Joshua Taylor (Spanish teacher at Boonville High School, effective June 1, 2025), among others. A transfer reported moved Danielle Kelly from Yankee Town Elementary to Newburgh Elementary.
