The Warrick County School Corp. Board of School Trustees on June 16 approved a professional-services agreement with Youth First to continue prevention programs and services for students and families and accepted a change adding Roy County to the contract's venue clause.
The agreement, presented by Superintendent Abby Redmond, continues Youth First's prevention work in the school corporation. Redmond told the board staff had asked Youth First to revise the agreement to list Warrick County in addition to Vanderburgh County; Youth First returned a further revision that added Roy County to the venue section. Under the revised section 10.6, disputes may be brought in the Superior or Circuit Court of Vanderburgh County, Indiana, or Roy County, Indiana.
Board members moved and voted to approve the agreement as presented. The motion was made by Mrs. Wilhelmus and seconded by Mr. Baker; the board approved the item with no opposing votes.
The approval preserves the district's use of Youth First prevention programming in schools; the amendment to the venue clause changes where any legal disputes under the agreement may be filed. The board did not request additional substantive amendments during the motion.
The signed agreement will govern Youth First’s services in the district for the term set in the contract.
