The SourcePass proposal described moving the village’s organizational identity to the .gov domain while maintaining backward compatibility and continuing delivery to existing addresses.
The board recorded a vote in favor of the SourcePass proposal. Officials said the change was prompted by a state or federal requirement affecting entities with more than 1,500 users and by recent procedural changes that simplified the application process.
Separately, the board authorized the mayor to execute an agreement with CGI Digital to update the village website’s video tour at no cost to the village; trustees said CGI’s work will be an enhancement to the site.
No changes to email availability or delivery were expected because the .org domain will remain as an alias, according to the materials presented to the board.
