During commission reports, members updated the board on the county animal shelter and economic development activity.
A commissioner reported attending the parks and recreation meeting and said the animal shelter has been a focus; the county has hired a new animal-shelter director who is expected to start on the 20th of this month. The commissioner said the shelter is “headed in the right direction” and that the county is looking forward to improvements under new leadership.
A separate report said the Putnam County Development Authority (PCDA) recently closed on a building in Culloden and is seeking a tenant. The speaker praised PCDA staff and singled out Morgan Kenny’s crew for doing a “great job.” The speaker also said there was no planning meeting last month.
These items were provided during commissioner reports rather than as separate agenda items.
