Rossford City Council voted June 9 to adopt Ordinance 2025-543, amending Supplemental Appropriation No. 9 for the 2025 fiscal year to add several donations and increase project and personnel-related funding.
The ordinance adds three donations made to the city by the Eagles: one each for the police department, fire department and senior center. It also adds funding for a fire chief salary item previously approved under Ordinance 2025-540 and increases the Wales Road building addition appropriation. According to staff, the council originally budgeted $400,000 for the Wales Road project and will need an additional $198,000 based on bids.
The ordinance also appropriates funds to purchase a vehicle and equip it with a radio and lighting for the newly established interdiction officer position in the police department. Finance staff presented the items and offered to answer council's questions; no audience objections were raised when the council moved to suspend the rules and adopt the ordinance the same evening.
The motion to adopt Ordinance 2025-543 passed on a roll-call vote with council members recorded as voting in favor.
