Pueblo County commissioners voted May 20 to appoint Steve Talbot as the county's hearing officer for liquor and marijuana licensing, effective June 11, 2025. The resolution authorizes staff to contract with the appointee and rescind the prior appointment on the effective date.
County staff said a request for proposals produced three qualified applicants; commissioners received survey results and the planning director's recommendation in advance of the vote. Staff noted the appointment is the result of an open and competitive process and that the effective date is June 11, 2025.
For the record at the meeting staff announced the selection: Steve Talbot will be appointed as the hearing officer effective June 11. The board voted to approve the appointment by voice vote and directed staff to complete contracting steps. The board did not discuss the terms of the contract in public during the meeting.
