Public health, schools and outdoor program grants discussed; county to submit ELC extension application

Secure Rural Schools allocations: Staff said the county had previously agreed with local school districts to split the discretionary portion of Secure Rural Schools funds and presented the per-district discretionary allocation as $8,912.91 to each of RE-1, RE-6 and RE-4; staff said the decision would be finalized at the next meeting as agreed with the school districts.
CPW pass-through grant: Staff described a CPW grant application that requires the county or sheriff to be the pass-through entity by statute. The award amount was not yet specified; staff said historically the award to teams was minimal (staff estimated it would likely be under $5,000 but varied year-to-year) and that the county would forward the funds to teams if awarded.
Other intergovernmental items: Staff noted an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) request from Dolores County for public-health services would appear on the next meeting’s agenda and encouraged interested parties to attend.
