The Houston County Board on June 10 approved an amendment to the purchase of real estate from Flint Energies and separate easements with Flint Electric Membership Corporation to provide power to district schools.
Dr. Unruh moved to approve an amendment setting the updated appraisal-based purchase price at $7,520,000 for 24.19 acres and five buildings located at 900 Highway 96; Ms. Johnson seconded and the motion passed 6-0. The purchase amendment gives Dr. Richard Rogers, superintendent, authority to execute closing documents when the transaction proceeds.
Separately, the board approved agreements granting overhead and underground right-of-way easements to Flint Electric Membership Corporation so Flint can provide power to Veterans Middle School and Veterans High School. The motion to approve the easements passed 6-0.
Dr. Unruh told the board the amendment follows an updated appraisal required by the parties; the district recorded the updated appraisal at $7,520,000 during the meeting record.
The board did not set a public closing date in the meeting discussion, but authorized the superintendent to sign the closing documents when appropriate.
