The council noted that roughly 95% of project costs are expected to be reimbursed subject to assurances from the Bureau of Aeronautics and the FAA. The council approved the resolution 11–0.
Alder Martins and members of the finance committee explained that the city would front the costs temporarily to avoid delaying construction, and that reimbursement procedures were standard practice for airport projects. Council members thanked airport staff for their work; no member raised objections to proceeding on the temporary funding basis.
