"I will make a motion to, for discussion and possible action to adopt the OKCPS board of education's future driven student outcomes governance goals and guardrails," Chair Paula Lewis said before members cast their yes votes.
Board members and staff said the document formalizes the district’s public-facing goals and the guardrails that direct superintendent decision-making. The discussion that followed focused on guardrail No. 4, which addresses “fair access to enriching opportunities,” and whether Career and Technical Education (CTE) should be explicitly named alongside fine arts, extracurriculars and rigorous coursework.
