The measure, introduced by Solicitor Butler, passed on a roll-call vote with councilmembers Chesser, Dr. Fisher, Kreimer, Snell and Michaelson voting in favor; one member was absent. The resolution authorizes the village to participate in the Center for Local Government benefits pool and to contract with UnitedHealthcare for employee coverage.
The renewal was presented to council after representatives from the Center for Local Government and a broker referred to as Hub described plan changes to employees. Solicitor Butler told council the renewal carries a 5.5% premium increase from the previous cycle and that the meeting for staff attendance had been held to review employee options.
Council did not amend the coverage period or direct additional study; the vote finalized the village's carrier and authorizes staff to implement the contract for the stated policy year.
No further action on the insurance contract was scheduled at the meeting.
