Port Washington public works chair resigns; Alderman Mike Gasper elected chair

Alderman Mike Gasper was nominated and, after no other nominations, was approved by voice vote. Alderman Cherney was approved as vice chair in the same manner.
Board members expressed appreciation for Wittig’s years of service and asked members to forward suggestions for a future replacement to the mayor or the board. The board did not take other formal actions tied to the resignation at the June meeting.
The board’s next regular meeting is July 8 at 5:30 p.m.
