Medina City Council on June 9 heard that a water-line replacement project will start the week of June 9 on the west side of the square. City Engineer Patton said the work will cover West Liberty from Court to Elmwood, Elmwood to West Washington, and two blocks west along West Washington; he estimated the project will take two to three months and that parking on the north side of West Liberty will be unavailable during construction.
Earlier in the meeting the Water and Utilities chair reported the committee met before council and flagged an upcoming agenda item related to water tap-in fees that will be brought to council for action. The committee indicated an item "related to water tap-in fees" will be forthcoming; no fee amounts or ordinance language were presented at the June 9 meeting.
Patton said all property owners in the project area have been notified by mail and that traffic will be maintained, with smaller vehicles detoured when needed. Council did not take further action on tap-in fees at this meeting; staff will return with specific proposals for council consideration.
