The Medina City Council Finance Committee voted to authorize the mayor to sign a fiscal-year 2025 CHIP partnership agreement with Medina County, Brunswick and Wadsworth and approved an emergency clause so the city could meet the application deadline.
Barbara (staff member) told the committee the city had partnered with the county and neighboring jurisdictions on earlier CHIP applications and that the county partnership meant the city’s anticipated funding would be nearly the same as if Medina had applied alone. Because the application must be submitted in Columbus by the 25th and the council would not meet again until the 23rd, staff requested and the committee approved an emergency clause to allow timely submission.
Committee President (name not specified) called for the motion and the committee approved the authorization and the emergency clause. No further conditions or spending breakdowns were discussed in the meeting.
Staff said the county-led submission would allow Medina to participate in the CHIP program for FY25 under the partnership agreement; the final award amount and award terms were not provided at the meeting.
