Police Chief Mike Myers told the council the city finalized a grant from the NRA Foundation that provides ammunition for pistol and rifle training and two first‑aid trauma kits.
Myers said the department applied in October, was awarded part of the grant earlier this year and submitted final reports to conclude the award. He described the grant as roughly $3,300 and as a 100% no‑match award that supplied training ammunition and two trauma kits for first‑aid and training purposes.
"Our grant was for NRA Foundation, gives monies or equipment for, training purposes," Myers said, summarizing the award. No council action was required; Myers announced the completion of the grant process during the staff report portion of the meeting.
