The Sioux Falls School District briefly reported athletic successes during a June 9 board meeting: Jefferson High School won the state girls softball championship, and Lincoln High School captured both the boys and girls team titles in the state track meet.
A district representative told the board that three of the four teams in the state softball final came from the Sioux Falls district—Lincoln, Washington and Jefferson—and that Jefferson beat Washington in the championship game held at Augustana College’s Third Diamond. The district also said Lincoln won the boys track team title by a half‑point over Brandon Valley and decisively won the girls team title.
The board offered congratulations and noted that fall and other extracurricular activities continue over the summer, including band and show choir rehearsals.
