Public Works staff explained the parcel is located off Oak Hill School Road, north of the Braesewood subdivision, and currently contains the North Sewer trunk alignment. The city said repair work requires relocating the sewer farther from the creek, and the school district indicated a preference for an outright sale rather than an easement. The city obtained a certified appraisal that established a market value of $60,000, and that figure is the recommended purchase price in the proposed agreement.
Committee members asked whether the city had other plans for the property beyond sewer relocation; staff said no additional plans have been finalized but that long-term uses could be considered in the future. Committee members approved the resolution by roll call; the committee chair noted the high school board planned to consider the sale at a special meeting on Saturday.
The item will move to the full city council next week for final action if the school board and council follow the anticipated schedule.
