Board approves multiple appointments, reappointments and posts openings; Michael Bossert appointed to Board of Review

The Kankakee County Board on June 10 approved a package of appointments and reappointments to county boards and commissions and recorded numerous openings for volunteer positions.
Among the items approved as part of the consent agenda were reappointments to regional planning and historic preservation commissions, appointments to the Kankakee Regional Land Bank and fire protection districts, and resignations from certain boards. The board approved the consent package by roll-call vote with item number 91 removed for separate consideration.
Item 91, a resolution appointing Michael Bossert to the Kankakee County Board of Review, was considered separately. A motion to appoint Bossert was made by Weber and seconded by Miller; the board conducted a roll-call vote and the motion carried. During the roll call one member, identified in the record as Mister Lowy, was recorded as voting nay; all other recorded votes were aye and the appointment carried.
The board also recorded a lengthy list of openings across county bodies, including openings on the regional planning commission, Kankakee County Board of Health, Kankakee County Housing Authority (tenant seat), Kankakee Regional Land Bank, Kankakee Valley Airport Authority, several township and drainage districts, the University of Illinois extension and advisory bodies. The clerk read the openings into the record; the board did not take additional action beyond recording the vacancies.
Several reappointments and appointments approved on the consent agenda included Jessica Andrade to the ICANN joint education committee; Christopher Curtis to the Will-Kankakee Regional Development Authority; Iris Nee, Michael Maloney and Rick Manuel to regional planning commissions; Matt Olsafsky and Joseph Nugent to the Kankakee Regional Land Bank; and Linda Fogarty to the Kankakee County Historic Preservation Commission. The board also accepted resignations from Cecil Loggins (Housing Authority) and Sherry Ebert (Historic Preservation Commission).
The board took final action to approve the slate of appointments, and members were advised of the posted openings for future recruitment.
