Representative Heffley offered Amendment A01011 to add two seats to the advisory committee: a representative from the insurance industry that offers health insurance policies and a representative from a behavioral-health Medicaid managed care organization. Anne Marie read the amendment summary. The committee voted to agree to the amendment by voice vote; the chair announced no negative votes and the amendment was agreed to.
Sponsor Representative Pugh, who introduced the resolution, said the issue was “very near and dear to me” and expressed hope the task force’s findings would identify ways to get people covered and to “get them the help that they need.” Representative Gural, the co-prime sponsor, said the matter is “a Pennsylvania issue, not a party line issue” and urged affirmative votes.
With the amendment adopted, the committee reported the resolution as amended. No roll-call vote was recorded in the transcript.
