County moves to close on property option for Erwin water treatment plant expansion; due diligence nearly complete

"We began work on the Erwin water treatment plant project," a county speaker said, describing an option to purchase property from the Engel family that staff acquired in May 2025. The county has completed the majority of due diligence and asked the board to approve the purchase, noting "time being of the essence" to preserve the option.
