The Santa Fe Springs Planning Commission continued a public‑hearing item concerning an existing drive‑through facility so staff could finalize conditions of approval and give the applicant time to review them.
Senior Planner Vince Velasco said staff discovered the drive‑through began operating without obtaining a conditional use permit and that the continuance will allow time to finalize conditions and return the item to the commission at the July 14 meeting. "This is actually a existing drive thru facility that is adding on to their existing business. However, we discovered that they never obtained a conditional use permit, when they began operating," Velasco said.
The public hearing was opened and no public speakers addressed the continuance. Commissioner Flores moved to continue the item to the July 14, 2025 meeting; the motion carried on a roll‑call vote with all commissioners voting "aye." The commission briefly discussed whether to leave the public hearing open; staff confirmed the item will be continued to the July 14 Planning Commission meeting.
Velasco said the continuance is intended to allow staff to finalize conditions of approval and to provide the applicant time to review them before the hearing.
