Staff seeks separate seawall repair contract for north end of working waterfront with Stewart Marine

City staff told the Fairhope City Council work session they plan to seek approval to contract with Stewart Marine to repair a deteriorated seawall on the north end of the working waterfront project.
Staff said the seawall repair requires work outside the original waterfront contract footprint because the waterfront project penetrated a small corner of the seawall and the far north end of the wall is in poor condition. To fund the separate seawall project, staff said they located funds left over in the parks department from a planned Cowpin Creek bridge and will transfer those funds to pay for the seawall work.
The staff presentation framed the item as an administrative funding transfer and a discrete contract for labor and materials with Stewart Marine; the work-session comments did not include a vote. Staff offered to answer questions about scope and budgeting.
No construction schedule was provided during the work session.
