Town approves $27,500 right-of-way purchase for Crawfordsville Road project (Parcel 29B)

Town Manager Grant Kleinhines told council members the negotiated purchase price is $27,500, of which a $25,000 warranty-deed payment covers property and $2,500 is listed as damages to be rectified because the project's work affects the parcel's driveway. Kleinhines asked the clerk-treasurer to issue payment promptly so the deed can be recorded and the parcel cleared for construction.
Council motioned and approved the purchase and authorized payment before the next meeting so staff can complete title recording and project scheduling. Councilors said they want the acquisition cleared quickly to keep the pedestrian project on schedule.
The council vote was 4-0 in favor of the purchase and authorization to issue payment before the next meeting.
