The Portsmouth Port and Industrial Commission adopted its fiscal year 2026 operating budget Tuesday after a roll-call vote.
Commissioners moved and seconded adoption of the FY 2026 PPIC operating budget; the measure passed on a 5‑0 vote. During roll call the chair recorded commissioners present and voting yes as Allen, Foster, Swain, Rice and Peterman.
Before the vote, commissioners discussed a possible grant or contribution to Starbase Victory. The treasurer noted staff had not programmed any amount for that item and the commission had not received a requested figure. The treasurer said the commission could set an amount later and amend the budget. “You don't have to include it in the adopted budget,” a staff speaker told the commission. Commissioners agreed to discuss and add a line item for Starbase Victory at a later date if they decide on an amount.
The motion to adopt the FY 2026 operating budget carried unanimously; no dollar total for the adopted budget was specified in the discussion recorded in the meeting transcript.
