Dobbs Ferry board approves block parties, holiday race and fireworks contract; fireworks booked with no rain date

Trustees unanimously authorized the Dobbs Ferry Youth Services Council to host the 13th annual Holiday Hustle on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025 (9 a.m.–noon), and to close village streets along the race route from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The board also authorized payment and a contract with Legion Fireworks for the July 4, 2025 fireworks display, not to exceed $20,000. After discussion about weather and cancellation terms, trustees declined to set a rain date for the fireworks; the board noted that if the village cancels without a rain date it may be responsible for a cancellation fee (the contract language referenced a 15% cancellation fee in discussion).
