During the public hearing portion of the meeting, the Okaloosa County School Board adopted three new job descriptions recommended by the superintendent.
Doctor Hale presented the items and the board opened the public hearing for each position. No members of the public spoke to any of the three items. The board then moved, seconded and approved each job description by a 5-0 vote: 15.1 (coordinator, threat management), 15.2 (technician, safety and security systems) and 15.3 (director, Office of Safe Schools).
The transcript shows the board followed the same process for each item: a presentation, an opportunity for public comment (none), a motion and a recorded 5-0 vote. The meeting record does not include the full text of the new job descriptions or additional implementation details; the actions adopt the job descriptions as presented by district staff.
