School board approves multiple administrative appointments, 5-0

The Okaloosa County School Board unanimously approved a slate of superintendent-recommended personnel appointments at its meeting.

Superintendent Chambers presented the recommendations and introduced the candidates. The board appointed Miss Holly Tu as director of secondary education, Miss Amy Dale as director of elementary education (not present), Miss Marina Minucci as specialist for career and technical education, and Miss Brittany Tate as assistant principal at Pryor Middle School. Each appointment was moved, seconded and approved by a 5-0 vote.

Miss Holly Tu's biography, read into the record, noted 30 years in education, a bachelor's degree in math and science education from the University of West Florida and a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington, and previous service as assistant principal and principal at multiple district schools. Miss Marina Minucci's remarks referenced a background that includes degrees from Eastern Washington University and the University of Tampa and experience teaching mathematics and career technical education; she thanked district leaders and noted her family's military connection. Miss Brittany Tate, introduced for an assistant-principal role, was recognized for prior classroom and grant work in Okaloosa County, including securing more than $2,500,000 in grant funding and being named the county's 2023 teacher of the year; she thanked the board and pledged to support students and staff at Pryor Middle School.

The board conducted a brief welcome for each appointee and took no separate discussion items beyond the formal approval votes.
