Forsyth County commissioners unanimously approved the appointment of Amanda Markle as the county’s new tax assessor/collector. Markle, currently deputy tax assessor in Durham County, will begin work in Forsyth County on July 7.
County staff introduced Markle at the meeting and described her more than 20 years of tax assessment experience and professional credentials, including certified county assessor, assessment administration specialist, personal property appraiser and real property appraiser designations. Markle addressed commissioners briefly, saying she looks forward to serving Forsyth County and working with county staff and residents.
Commissioners thanked the interim tax assessor, Mike Pollock, for serving in the interim role and welcomed Markle to Forsyth County. The board also approved a resolution to appoint the assessor/collector as part of the consent agenda.
