The West Clermont Local Board of Education on May 29 voted 5-0 to employ Dr. David Fultz as the district’s superintendent.
Board members took the vote after returning from an executive session called for the purpose of “employment, promotion, or compensation of a public employee or official.” The motion to adopt a resolution to employ Dr. David Fultz passed on a roll call with each member voting yes.
The resolution to employ Dr. Fultz was moved and adopted without recorded debate. After the vote, board members congratulated the appointee and Dr. Fultz told the board, “I’m excited about being a part of the community. Thank you.”
The official hiring follows the board’s earlier motion to enter executive session to discuss employment matters; the transcript records that the board recessed for that executive session and later returned to complete board business, including the superintendent’s contract vote.
The meeting did not include details of the terms of Dr. Fultz’s contract in the public transcript. The board did not record additional public discussion about the search, selection process, or contract provisions during the portion of the meeting included in the public record.
