Superintendent: Lowry HVAC Phase 3 contract approved; website transition and audits underway

Superintendent Dr. Johnson updated the board on district operations, telling trustees she approved the contract to begin the final phase of the Lowry High School HVAC project.
"This will occur during the summer of 20 26 and will conclude the commitment that we made back in 02/2008, and the rollover bond was approved by our, voters," Dr. Johnson said. The superintendent said the work fulfills a long-standing voter commitment to equip all district schools with HVAC systems.
Dr. Johnson also reported a preliminary meeting with audit firm Drake and Rose and Associates to prepare for the close of the 2425 school year. "We appreciate all the work that goes into the audit and look forward to working with them as we close out the 2425 school year," she said.
On communications, the superintendent said the district is transitioning its website from a vendor called Apogee to a new platform in a cost-neutral move that staff said will allow rebranding under the leadership of Colby, a district administrator.
She also reminded trustees about upcoming graduation events and asked them to attend where possible; dates for Orbata, Paradise Valley, McDermott and Lowry graduations were listed during the report.
The update closed with thanks to the Mining Industry Foundation for supporting the staff recognition banquet and with a note that negotiations with staff associations were starting.
