Committee approves utility relocation amendment, media services renewal and Eagle Cemetery bid award

The Diversion Authority Finance Committee on May 21 approved three contracting actions: a task-order amendment with Cass County Electric for $223,612.85 to relocate utilities along County Road 81 and provide power to the Red River structure, the annual renewal of the authority’s services agreement with C3 Media, and the low bid award for the Eagle Cemetery protection project.

Chris Bockengard, engineer for the diversion project, presented the three items. He said the Cass County Electric work will reroute lines through the embankment in the SE3 alignment and supply power to the Red River structure; the total cost presented to the committee for that task-order amendment was $223,612.85. The committee approved the amendment by roll call.

The committee also approved a one-year renewal of the C3 Media services agreement to provide videography, photography and communications support for project updates and outreach from July 1 through the following June, with costs similar to prior years.

For the Eagle Cemetery protection project near Christine, North Dakota, the authority received three bids; the low bid from Industrial Builders was $227,690, the high bid was about $370,000, and one bid matched the engineer’s estimate at roughly $300,000. Bockengard said the cemetery will hire Dakota Monument to move headstones after Memorial Day weekend; the contractor for the fill work is scheduled to begin in June. The committee voted to approve all three contracting actions and the motion passed by roll call.
