The Village of Palos Park council approved final payment distribution No. 5 of $172,809.38 June 9 to close out the McCarthy Road water transmission main project contracted with Steve's Construction Company.
Commissioner Patan described the project as installation of a new 16-inch water transmission main from the Holy Family Villa property near 120 3rd West of Wilcook Road west to the Coghill property near Bell Road. The presentation listed an original contract amount of $1,876,684.80 and a final contract cost of $1,676,564.47. Baxter and Woodman approved the final payment request of $172,809.38.
Staff told council the project was budgeted in the water fund and financed with $644,000 from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) plus an Illinois EPA (IEPA) loan; the ARPA allocation is being used to reduce the loan amount. The council approved the final payment by unanimous roll call.
No amendments or contingent directions were recorded at the meeting; staff or consultants will complete standard closeout documentation and reporting as required by the village contracting process and funding sources.
