The council discussed the pipe age; a speaker questioned whether the pipe was 75 years old, and staff clarified the high school dates (1959) and that the pipe is decades old but not precisely dated in the record.
The motion to approve payment for the alternate bid for the Riley Avenue water and sewer main replacement carried on recorded vote. The work will be performed this summer as part of the school district’s project and paid by the city for the utility portion rather than the district.
