Board approves Jamie Criwold as director of literacy; she will start July 1

Criwold addressed the board after the vote, saying she is “honored to be selected” and that she looks forward to supporting K‑3 structured literacy implementation (Act 20) and secondary disciplinary literacy work, and to leading adoption and implementation of district reading resources in elementary schools.
A board member who participated in the hiring panel complimented Criwold’s background and said she made a strong impression during the selection process. Criwold confirmed she will begin in the new role on July 1.
The board’s action was recorded as approved by the clerk; no further personnel actions were taken during the special meeting portion of the agenda.
