The Trussville City Schools Board of Education approved its personnel report, which included retirements, resignations, transfers and new hires, and formally introduced Kayla Alexander as the district’s new girls’ basketball coach.
Dr. Martin told the board principals had been active during the summer making staffing recommendations included in the personnel packet. The board approved the personnel report by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
Coach Tanya Hunter was recognized earlier at the meeting for moving into an administrative role as assistant athletic director. The board introduced Kayla Alexander and asked Coach Walker to speak about her; Walker said the hiring was an "exciting" moment for the program and asked for a reserved moment for the high school players who had not yet met their new coach.
The personnel report also included several retirements and resignations; specific names and positions were listed in the packet provided to the board and approved as presented.
