Solon highlights student national qualifiers, music honors and launches Back to School Hub

At the June 9 meeting, the Solon Board of Education celebrated several student achievements and previewed a new online resource for families.
Superintendent Bolden said the high school Science Olympiad team competed at the national level and praised coaches and parents for their work. He also reported that 28 students qualified for the national speech and debate tournament (17 high school, 11 middle school) and that senior Christopher Wang was selected as one of 20 finalists for the 2025 U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad study camp.
The district noted it earned a 12th straight designation as one of the Best Communities for Music Education, and the superintendent described the district’s strong instrumental and vocal programs. On communications, the district announced a Back to School Hub created by a new digital media manager; the hub aggregates start‑of‑year information — schedules, teacher placements, medical forms, PowerSchool access and supply lists — and will be accessible via the district app.
Board members congratulated students and coaches and said the hub should make information easier for parents to find before the school year.
