Board approves resolution allowing county engineer to sign closing documents for satellite storage site

The Muscatine County Board of Supervisors on June 9 approved Resolution 06092501 authorizing the county engineer to execute closing documents to purchase a parcel on Independence Avenue from MPW for a satellite storage and motorgrader shed facility.

County Engineer Bridal Rochowski presented the item, saying the authorization covers signing any closing documents for the purchase. “This is to sign any of the closing documents for our purchase out on Independence Ave from MPW,” Rochowski said.

Supervisor roll call on the resolution recorded aye votes from the board members present, and the motion passed. The purchase is intended to provide a satellite storage location and a shed to house a motorgrader and related equipment, supporting secondary roads operations.

Rochowski also reported other county engineering matters later in his remarks, including potential bridge grant opportunities and correspondence about overweight truck pilot programs; those topics were discussed separately during the engineer’s report.

The board’s authorization authorizes the county engineer to complete the closing paperwork; final purchase completion will follow standard closing procedures and the execution of the recorded documents.
