Larimer County posted the county building official position following an announced retirement later this year, county staff said.
Rebecca Everett, Community Development Director, told commissioners the department posted the job after County Building Official Eric Fried announced his retirement this fall and that the county aims to complete recruitment and hire a replacement before Fried departs to allow for overlap and knowledge transfer.
Everett said the hiring process will include opportunities for community stakeholders and boards and commissions to meet candidates and provide feedback. "We'll be conducting a hiring process over the next couple months with the goal of trying to fill that position before Eric's retirement," Everett said.
Staff said the recruitment is active and that they will provide updates on the hiring timeline and community meet-and-greet logistics as the process advances.
