BCHA reports Willoughby Corner nearing completion; vouchers, budget and development pipeline debated

Molly Chang, BCHA director of development, told the board that Willoughby Corner Phase 1 is on track to finish final construction work in June and that city inspections in Lafayette would be requested at the close of that work. She said the senior building is fully leased and other buildings are being prepared for occupancy; final public improvements remain to be accepted before the final building can open. Staff are targeting mid‑July move-in availability for the last building and full occupancy by Sept. 1. Chang said converting the construction loan to a permanent mortgage in July (and again in December) would reduce interest costs and help project finances. She announced a Willoughby Corner ribbon cutting Aug. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m.
