Commissioner Aaron Murphy told the Planning Commission on June 9 that he has requested to step down from his seat effective July 1 because of family commitments and his upcoming role as rotary president in Poulsbo.
"Between that and four teens and four aging parents, I'm out of bandwidth," Murphy said on the record. He indicated he will remain through the June 16 joint meeting with the Board of County Commissioners and through June 30.
Commission members thanked Murphy for his service. The commission did not take formal action on the vacancy during the meeting; county procedures for filling Planning Commission vacancies are administered by the Board of County Commissioners.
