Board approves Chartwells food-service agreement; district to pilot 'smoothie bike' visits

The district received two updates from Chartwells staff at a recent produce market: a systemwide signage refresh for cafeterias and a rotating ‘‘smoothie bike’’ (described in the presentation as a pedal-powered smoothie or slushy station) that Chartwells plans to bring to buildings on a schedule. The vendor ordered the bikes in March and intends to rotate them through schools once deliveries are complete.
Board members praised Chartwells for increased partnership and engagement at district events and said the vendor has volunteered time at community food markets. The board approved the Chartwells food-service agreement 4-0.
