Committee adopts amendment and forwards resolution honoring Oregon’s Black drag history to the floor

The House Committee on Rules on June 5 adopted the dash-3 amendment to House Resolution 3 and voted to forward the resolution to the House floor with an "adopted" recommendation. Committee staff described the resolution as recognizing and honoring Oregon’s history of Black drag and said the dash-3 added whereas clauses related to June as Pride Month, Juneteenth, and to highlight members and accomplishments of Portland’s Black drag community.
Vice Chair Pham moved adoption of the dash-3 amendment and the committee adopted the amendment. Pham then moved that House Resolution 3, as amended, be sent to the floor with a recommendation that it be adopted. The committee recorded affirmative responses, and Chair Bowman announced the motion passed. Chair Bowman assigned Representative Travis Nelson to carry the resolution on the House floor.
Committee staff indicated the dash-3 amendment and the resolution have no fiscal or revenue impact. The committee closed the work session on the resolution and proceeded to the next agenda item.
