Rules Committee hears measure repealing several advisory boards and task forces

The House Committee on Rules opened and closed a public hearing on Senate Bill 47 on June 5 after committee staff reported there were no registered witnesses. Committee staff said the measure would eliminate a number of state advisory entities and transfer one task force’s duty to the Oregon Patient Safety Commission.
According to committee staff, the measure repeals the Spinal Cord Injury Research Board and Spinal Cord Injury Research Fund; the Employee Suggestion Awards Commission; the Jobs Plus Advisory Board; the Poison Prevention Task Force; the Family Services Review Commission; the Mental Health Advisory Board; the Disability Issues Advisory Committee; and the Task Force on Resolution of Adverse Health Care Incidents, whose duties would transfer to the Oregon Patient Safety Commission. Staff said the measure makes conforming changes to reflect the repeal of those entities and indicated no fiscal or revenue impact at committee posting.
There was no testimony and no committee discussion on the record. The committee closed the public hearing without action.
