District clerk Brianne Mignone briefed the board on a packet item to update authorized signers on the district’s bank accounts, safe deposit boxes and transaction signatory authority following the recent change in board membership.
Mignone said there will be three separate resolutions on the Monday agenda to update authorized signers, safe deposit access and wastewater/utilities transaction signers; she said Karen Cordova and Ron Erickson would present the resolutions in full and be available to answer questions. She explained the changes are administrative and necessary after a change of board membership.
Board members sought clarification about how often their signatures would be required and whether accounts were interest‑bearing. Staff said many of the district accounts earn interest and the finance director selects instruments to maximize return while preserving cash for capital projects; one board member said the only document he typically physically signs is the budget submission at year‑end. Staff also explained that two signatures are required on withdrawals per the draft resolution language and that the resolutions could be approved individually or together at the next regular meeting.
No vote occurred during the work session; staff will present the three resolutions for formal consideration at the regular meeting and be available to answer detailed questions about account types and reporting.
