Commission postpones chair election and discusses moving July meeting

Chair Stacy said she was attending her last meeting and urged members interested in leading to notify city staff. Commissioners noted the commission currently has five of nine citizen seats filled and that Mayor Garretano was addressing vacancies. Staff said if no chair is in place in July, the department would open the meeting and put the election first on the agenda.
Members discussed the usual July 2 meeting date falling on the holiday weekend and considered alternate dates. Commissioners suggested July 8 or July 10 as possibilities; staff said they would check building availability and confirm the rescheduled date by email.
No formal vote to change the July meeting date was taken; the election for chair and vice chair was tabled to the next meeting.
