The Wildwood Parks and Recreation Commission finalized several promotional merchandise decisions ahead of Celebrate Wildwood: the group approved a crewneck sweatshirt without a pocket for sale and for commission use, opted to order ornaments and stickers, and directed staff to pursue a new screen-printing/distribution vendor.
Commissioner Debbie moved to remove the pocket from the proposed crewneck design and Commissioner Bonnie seconded; the motion passed. Staff confirmed the approved sweatshirt will be a crewneck in the "oatmeal cobbler" color and that it will be ordered without a pocket. "So the sweatshirt will be a crew neck with no pocket and the oatmeal cobbler as we have," Stacy, chair, stated after the vote.
Staff also presented samples of T-shirts, water bottles and ornaments. The commission agreed to offer multiple T-shirt colors for sale and for staff and commission uniforms; staff said they would provide sizes across the range and that the online ordering and fulfillment would be handled by the vendor's store platform. Staff reported delays and fulfillment problems with Teespring and recommended trying a new vendor that could deliver samples and provide integrated fulfillment; commissioners supported the change.
The commission discussed product details: printing limitations for five-color designs on heathered fabrics, which color to omit in multi-color prints, and merchandise sizing. Staff said some product choices require dropping a color in the print set to avoid bleed-through and explained they would order initial, small batches and expand later as demand warranted. Staff also said they will return to the commission with shipping-cost estimates for online orders.
Separately, commissioners approved purchasing a small initial stock of low-priced ornaments to sell at events and agreed stickers would be ordered for giveaways. Staff said they would circulate final cost and shipping details by email before the next meeting.
No fees or sales prices were finalized for T-shirts and sweatshirts at the meeting; staff said they will report price breakdowns and shipping estimates at a subsequent meeting.
