The Sawyer County child support office reported the completion of months-long construction and said it is back in service with new furniture, carpeting and doors.
The speaker described the former law library space that had been repurposed several times and said, "We're done now, and I'd like to give a huge shout out to IT because they were at our beck and call. Disconnecting, reconnecting, panicking when we were panicking, everything." The speaker praised maintenance staff and locksmith assistance and said the renovated space includes new desks, modesty panels and additional doors.
Staffing changes were reported: a receptionist retired Feb. 28 and a replacement, Amy Benson, started on June 2 after being hired in March. The speaker said Benson came from a law firm in Eau Claire and has child-support experience.
Committee members had no questions on the report.
